PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Apr, 2026) Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, on Wednesday, chaired a meeting of the Planning and Development Department to review proposed projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026–27 across multiple sectors.
The meeting discussed major initiatives in the health and education sectors. In health, proposals included establishment of a Tribal Medical College, nursing colleges, upgradation of hospitals, development of a Health City, construction of new blocks, breast cancer screening centres and a 1,000-bed general hospital.
In the education sector, emphasis was laid on upgradation of schools, provision of missing facilities, rehabilitation of IT and science laboratories, and inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the computer science curriculum.
Scholarships for students from merged districts and hostel facilities for teachers also came under consideration.
The meeting further agreed on improving land record systems, establishment of drug testing laboratories, financial empowerment of minority communities, and infrastructure development for madrassas and mosques.
The CM directed authorities to add 20,000 additional classrooms in schools across the province, reiterating that health and education remain top government priorities and ensuring doorstep service delivery is the administration’s core objective.
