LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Senator Anusha Rehman chaired a meeting to review the status of digital connectivity in the education sector aimed at enabling e-learning facilities in educational institutions across Punjab.
Chairing the meeting, here on Thursday, Senator Anusha Rehman stressed that internet services in schools, colleges and universities must be revamped and upgraded to meet data intensive modern educational requirements. She said all educational institutions need to be equipped high speed broadband to allign with the vision of Chief Minister Punjabn and provide access to students to allign with technological advancements.
She emphasized that the Punjab government under the leadership of CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif is aimed to ensure high-speed internet access in schools, colleges and universities across the province for which steps are being taken by the Punjab IT department for improving digital infrastructure in educational stitutions.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Senator Anusha Rehman said Punjab was moving rapidly towards digital advancement and reforms, adding that satellite connectivity facilities were also being planned for schools, colleges and universities in remote and underserved areas of the province.
Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat participated in the meeting through video link, while MPA and Chairman PHA Ghazali Saleem Butt, Additional Secretary Reforms school Education Hafiz Irfan, Deputy Secretary (Universities) Usman Ibrahim, Director Colleges Lahore Ahsan Mukhtar and DPI Syed Ansar Abbas attended the meeting.
