CM Sarfraz Bugti praises civil-military synergy, highlights youth empowerment in Balochistan

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, on Saturday lauded Pakistan’s leadership role on the global stage, emphasizing that the joint strategy of national and military leadership forms the foundation of the country’s stability.

He made these remarks while addressing participants of the 55th training course of Pakistan Naval War College, who met him in Quetta. Sarfraz Bugti paid tribute to Prime Minister’s leadership and the professional efforts of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, noting that civil-military cooperation has brought significant success in the fight against terrorism and strengthened Pakistan’s defense and strategic vision.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed Balochistan’s political, security, and socio-economic situation, underlining the province’s pivotal role in country's future given its geo-strategic importance. He stressed that sustainable peace in Balochistan required close coordination between civil and military institutions, which is being actively pursued.

Sarfraz Bugti assured that the state was fully aware of activities of anti-state elements and countering them with effective strategies.

Highlighting government initiatives, he announced that Rs 40 billion were being allocated to strengthen Balochistan Police and an additional 10 billion rupees for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) to ensure lasting peace and security.

The Chief Minister described youth as the nation’s most valuable asset, stressing the need to integrate them into the mainstream through merit, transparency, and purposeful dialogue. He noted that for the first time in Balochistan’s history, a comprehensive youth policy has been introduced to empower young people, provide opportunities, and involve them in the development process.

Sarfraz Bugti assured that grievances of youth would be addressed seriously, but warned that those who take up arms against the state would face no leniency. He reiterated his government’s resolve to keep Balochistan on the path of stability and progress through effective strategies, meritocracy, and continuous engagement with the younger generation.

“The state will foil every conspiracy aimed at destabilizing Pakistan. All resources are being mobilized to achieve a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Balochistan,” he declared.
