QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the development of Barkhan district, describing it as his “second home” after Baiker.

He made these remarks during a meeting with tribal leader Mir Abdul Karim Khetran, where the two discussed the political and regional situation of the Koh e Suleman Division, particularly Barkhan. The meeting also focused on aligning upcoming development projects in the next fiscal year’s budget with the needs of local communities to ensure meaningful relief for residents.

Mir Abdul Karim Khetran thanked the Chief Minister for approving and advancing key projects in Barkhan, including a 50-bed hospital, and expressed hope that ongoing government initiatives would improve the provision of basic facilities in the area.

Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that the uplift of Barkhan and other underdeveloped regions is a top priority for the provincial government. He noted that resources are being distributed fairly and that practical steps are being taken to improve health, education, and basic infrastructure.

He assured that the upcoming budget will include projects designed with public welfare and regional needs in mind, accelerating the process of sustainable development. Bugti further pledged to expand the scope of development projects in remote districts to eliminate deprivation and deliver essential services at people’s doorsteps.

“The government believes in equal development for every part of the province, and all available resources are being utilized to achieve this goal,” CM Sarfraz Bugti said.
