COAS, CNS, CAS, Armed Forces pay tribute to Capt Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed on 27th martyrdom anniversary

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jul, 2026) Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ; Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt; Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ; and the Armed Forces of Pakistan solemnly commemorated the 27th martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, paying glowing tribute to his unmatched courage, unwavering devotion, and supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.

During the Kargil conflict of 1999, Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed displayed extraordinary gallantry and resolute leadership while defending the motherland against overwhelming odds, said a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Leading from the front with exceptional determination, he embraced martyrdom in the finest traditions of the Pakistan Army, leaving behind a legacy of honor, valor, and selfless service.
