Combating emergency both in peace, war times: female students' civil defense training begins in AJK

MIRPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Under the spirit to serve the nation both in peace and war times, the State Civil Defense Authority have started imparting training to the Civil Defence volunteers and the students, both male female in this district, official sources said.

In this connection, local civil defense authorities , on the instructions of Director General AJK Civil Defense Department Captain (R) Abrar Azam and under the supervision of Assistant Director Raja Muhammad Ishtiaq, the Civil Defense Department held weekly capacity building training workshop for the female students of Government Girls High school, Kalyal in Mirpur city on Wednesday, the CD Department sources told APP here on Wednesday.

Seasoned trainers of the Civil Defense imparted training of first aid, fire fighting, rescue methods, methods of lifting on a stretcher and shifting a patient without a stretcher, fire extinguishing methods, classification of fire, stopping bleeding, supporting a broken bone, methods of restoring breathing, CPR, emergency evacuation and rescue methods were trained and practiced.

The Principal of Government Girls High School, while appreciating the performance of the training staff of Civil Defense Mirpur, said that such training was very important for the female students side by side the male student volunteers to deal with emergency situations. "Civil defense training might prove to be helpful in saving human lives in case of every emergency both in peace and war times", she opined.
