BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia, along with Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza, conducted a detailed visit to various parts of the city to review the ongoing cleanliness drive under the “Suthra Punjab” initiative.
They were accompanied by Assistant Commissioner City Khalil Ahmed and CEO Bahawalpur Waste Management Company Muhammad Naeem Akhtar.
Under the vision of the Punjab Chief Minister, the sanitation campaign has been further intensified across the city. During the visit, the Commissioner inspected the washing of major roads and reviewed arrangements for street cleaning using modern machinery and water bowsers.
Officials briefed that a special operation is underway to remove dust and debris from major roads, aiming to provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment.
Irfan Ali Kathia directed that cleanliness operations must be ensured on a daily basis, with zero tolerance for negligence.
He emphasized improving sanitation standards not only on main roads but also in streets and neighborhoods, along with ensuring the timely disposal of waste. During the visit, the officials also inspected the ongoing cleaning operation at Noor Shah Bukhari Graveyard. The Commissioner instructed the authorities to establish an effective daily cleaning system in all graveyards across the city to facilitate the public.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza stated that the cleanliness drive under the “Suthra Punjab” campaign will continue without interruption and that no negligence or carelessness will be tolerated. He directed relevant departments to maintain continuous monitoring of sanitation operations and ensure prompt redressal of public complaints. The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to utilizing all available resources to provide a clean, beautiful, and healthy environment for citizens and to sustain the cleanliness drive on a long-term basis.
