Commissioner directs provision of rabies vaccine, clearing of open drainage issues

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Multan Division, Amir Karim Khan on Saturday directed officials to address local issues across the division, with particular focus on dog bites and open drainage cases.

Speaking at a divisional meeting, he ordered that these matters be handled through a coordinated approach, combining modern technology with the local network of citizens.

The commissioner instructed authorities to collect detailed data on dog bite incidents and strengthen monitoring through village headmen at the union council level.

Officials were also tasked with identifying open drains and missing manhole covers.

Hospital administrations were told to ensure 24-hour availability of rabies vaccines,while all Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners in the division were directed to maintain sufficient supplies at RHCs and BHUs.

Amir Karim Khan stressed that providing basic health facilities to the public was a Primary responsibility of district and divisional governments and underscored the need for timely action to safeguard lives and property.
