HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Hyderabad, Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi, has directed the officers of the Sindh Solid Waste Management board (SSWMB) to ensure the best possible cleanliness arrangements at the entry and exit points of the city. At a meeting at his office here on Tuesday, he also instructed the officials to redesign sanitation arrangements across all areas of the city in coordination with the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Hyderabad Development Authority, and the Cantonment Board Hyderabad.
The Commissioner said he would ask the Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad to convene a meeting to strengthen coordination between Pak Atlas and HMC.
He instructed the concerned officials to redesign the sanitation plan within 15 days and ensure cleanliness throughout the city
During the meeting, a representative of Pak Atlas Company briefed the Commissioner that approximately 1,200 tons of waste were collected daily from all talukas of the city.
The company operated under the supervision of 149 supervisors along with sanitation workers to manage waste collection, he added.
He told that a modern geofencing system was being used to ensure staff attendance to improve operational efficiency.
He further informed that there were 2 solid waste management workshop facilities in Hyderabad where staff remain present 24 hours a day. According to him, the citizens could register their complaints by calling 1128 or through WhatsApp number 03110992211 regarding sanitation issues.
Separately, the Commissioner also presided another meeting with officials of the Health Department regarding health facilities and hospitals in the city.
The Medical Superintendents briefed him on the challenges and issues faced by various hospitals including Government Hospital Qasimabad, Pretabad, Shah Bhittai, and Kohsar Hospital.
The officials of the Expanded Program for Immunization (EPI) informed the commissioner about vaccination and immunization coverage.
The MS of Sindh Government Hospital Qasimabad informed that approximately 2,000 patients visited the hospital daily.
He stated that the gynecology ward operated 24 hours a day.
Commissioner directed all the MSs to ensure that patients in taluka hospitals were provided with all necessary medical facilities.
