MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan on Saturday distributed hearing aids among hearing-impaired children under the “Sound for Students” initiative.

He said over 200 hearing aids were provided to 98 children from Multan and Jalalpur Pirwala. Many children and their parents were previously unaware of their hearing loss, he added.

Medical boards were formed across four districts, screening 3,030 children. Tests revealed that more than 300 children could regain hearing ability with the help of hearing aids.

The devices were arranged with the support of PARCO and philanthropists.

In Shujaabad, 90 hearing aids were distributed among 77 children, while targets in other districts were also achieved.

The commissioner said hearing aids and speech therapy would enable children not only to hear but also to speak, helping them become confident and productive members of society.

He termed the initiative a “transformational step,” adding that restored hearing would open doors to education, employment, and independence for the children.

Deputy Commissioner Nauman Siddique, Additional Commissioner Kareem Bakhsh, and DO Special Education Zeeshan were also present on the occasion.
