Commissioner Hazara reviews customs check post project in Thakot, directs swift resolution of land issues

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Commissioner Hazara Division, Fayaz Ali Shah, held a meeting with Collector Customs Enforcement, Ayesha Bashir Wani, in his office here Thursday to review progress on the establishment of a customs check post in Thakot, Battagram.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held regarding land acquisition and the establishment of customs installations in District Battagram.

The Collector Customs Enforcement briefed the Commissioner, informing him that the Customs Department is in the process of acquiring land for the construction of a check post, offices, and residential facilities at the Thakot Bridge site.

She also highlighted the challenges being faced in the land acquisition process.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Battagram, Ishtiaq Ahmed; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Muhammad Sohail; Assistant Commissioner Battagram, Muhammad Salim; and other relevant customs officials.

Addressing the participants, Commissioner Hazara Fayaz Ali Shah directed the Deputy Commissioner Battagram to resolve the issues confronting customs authorities on a priority basis. He emphasized that matters should be settled swiftly through coordination and understanding with the landowners to ensure the timely completion of this project of national importance.
