He expressed these remarks while chairing a virtual meeting held to discuss the availability of public transport and measures to curb overcharging across the division. The Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority informed participants that a new fare schedule has been issued by the provincial government following the recent increase in fuel prices, and it is now applicable in all districts.

Deputy commissioners were asked to ensure joint inspections in coordination with special price magistrates, traffic police, and Regional Transport Authority officials.
Fayyaz Ali Shah further stated that the updated fare lists must be prominently displayed at all major bus stands, while duty rosters and contact numbers of officials should be made visible for passengers to lodge complaints. Complaint cells will also be established at transport terminals to ensure immediate resolution of overcharging issues.
He underlined the importance of close coordination among district administrations, traffic police, and relevant departments to facilitate smooth travel for citizens and ensure full compliance with government-approved fares.
