Commissioner inspects central control room, reviews Muharram security, monitoring arrangements

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Monday visited the Central Control Room established at the Deputy Commissioner Complex and reviewed security, monitoring, and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to the spokesperson for the Commissioner's office here, Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry, along with officers from relevant departments and the district administration, accompanied the Commissioner during the visit.

On the occasion, the officials briefed the Commissioner on the functioning of the control room, deployment of field staff, inter-departmental coordination, training of personnel, and contingency measures put in place to effectively respond to any emergency situation during Muharram.

The Commissioner was informed that CCTV cameras installed across the city had been linked to the control room to ensure continuous monitoring of processions and religious gatherings.

Representatives of various departments will remain on duty round the clock to facilitate prompt response to any untoward incident.

Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements, Hafiz Shaukat Ali directed all departments to maintain close coordination and perform their duties efficiently to ensure a peaceful observance of Muharram. He emphasized that participants of processions and Majalis should be provided with all necessary facilities.

The Commissioner stressed that no negligence would be tolerated regarding law and order, traffic management, sanitation, electricity supply, water availability, and emergency medical services. He further instructed officials to keep the control room fully operational, strengthen the monitoring system, and ensure that all relevant institutions remain on high alert to deal with any unforeseen situation. He said these measures are essential to ensure that all Muharram related events were held in a safe, secure, and peaceful environment.
