Commissioner inspects road rehabilitation works, directs timely completion

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza, visited various parts of the city to review ongoing development projects, particularly road rehabilitation works.

During the visit, the Commissioner inspected the repair and patchwork of the road from Welcome Chowk to Bohar Gate. Officials briefed him that under the road rehabilitation project in Model Town (B), approximately 1,550 running feet of road is being restored, including metalling over a 24-foot width and raising of manholes to proper levels.

The Commissioner directed that areas alongside the roads be properly aligned with road levels to ensure smooth traffic flow and avoid inconvenience to citizens. He emphasized that all construction work must meet high-quality standards and ensure long-term durability.

He further instructed authorities to take effective measures against encroachments across the city to widen roads and improve traffic flow. Stressing timely completion, the Commissioner directed that all ongoing road projects be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

In addition, he called for further improvement in sanitation systems, proper leveling of sewerage lines and manholes, and immediate resolution of drainage issues. He reiterated that providing better travel facilities to citizens remains a top priority of the administration.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza briefed the Commissioner on the progress of development projects and assured that all schemes would be completed within the set timeline and quality standards.
