Commissioner Karachi inspects situation after rainfall

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi visited various areas, including Districts South, East, and Central, to review the city's post-rainfall situation.

He inspected drainage work and directed Deputy Commissioners and municipal staff to expedite water drainage and provide citizens all assistance and relief .

He expressed hope that drainage would be completed soon.

Deputy Commissioner East Nasrullah Abbasi and Deputy Commissioner Central Taha Saleem were present during his visit in their districts.

The Commissioner said that priority efforts are being made to drain water from low-lying areas and roads, aiming to complete it quickly and minimize inconvenience to citizens.

He mentioned that the Commissioner Karachi Office's rescue helpline 1299

is active for citizen assistance.

On commissioner's directive, all Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners are in the field, coordinating with relevant agencies and carrying out rescue work.

During the visit, Naqvi inspected areas including Gharibabad, Sakhi Hassan, Nagan Chowrangi, Islamist college Hasan square old Sabzi Mandi and others.
