Commissioner Karachi reviews arrangements for Int'l Mushaira scheduled on March 28

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi on Wednesday thoroughly reviewed the arrangements for the International Mushaira scheduled to take place on March 28, at Expo Center here.

The Commissioner Karachi chaired the meeting held to review arrangements of Mushaira at the office here, said a spokesperson.

It was resolved that comprehensive and special security measures would be implemented for the event.

The meeting was attended by DIG Traffic Pir Muhammad Shah, Additional Commissioner-I Ghulam Mehdi Shah, Additional Commissioner-II Asadullah Khoso, Deputy Commissioner East Nasrullah Abbasi, Assistant Commissioner General Waqas Abbasi, Managing Director Sindh Solid Waste Management board Tariq Nizamani, senior police officers, representatives from Town Administration East, the Chief Fire Officer of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), along with officials from various civic agencies and community leaders of the City of Lights.

The Chief Organizer of the Mushaira, Mahmood Ahmad Khan briefed the participants on the event's proceedings.

He announced that the event would feature distinguished poets from Pakistan and overseas, including: Iftikhar Arif, Dr. Peerzada Qasim, Anwar Shaoor, Abbas Tabish, Wasi Shah, Shakeel Jazib, Peerzada Salman Javed, Saba Wajeeh Sani, Dr. Rubab Tabassum, Humaira Gul Tishna (USA), Faiqa Sahibzada (UK), Nooreen Syed (Germany), Dr. Noor Amrohi (USA), Tabish Zaidi (Dubai), and several other renowned literary figures.

Commissioner Syed Hasan Naqvi remarked that the International Mushaira represents a cherished cultural tradition that has effectively projected Karachi's positive image both nationally and globally.

He emphasized that the city should continue to host such literary gatherings on a regular basis.

The Commissioner further assured that the Karachi administration would extend all possible support and logistical cooperation to ensure the event's grand success.

Chief Organizer Mahmood Ahmad Khan also apprised the meeting of the Mushaira's historical significance, cultural importance, and provided detailed information regarding the participating poets from Pakistan and abroad.
