Commissioner orders faster service delivery, clearing of pending cases

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak has directed departments to expedite service delivery, clear pending cases and strengthen coordination to improve public welfare.

Chairing a meeting of the Divisional Coordination Committee at the Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi (MCR) on Friday, Khattak instructed all departments to clear pending cases on the E-Biz Portal within three days, adding that any delays must be supported by written explanations. He also called for the timely release of dues and funds to the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) to avoid disruption to sanitation services.

He asked deputy commissioners to identify development schemes in their respective districts that deliver maximum benefit to the public. Referring to the Punjab government’s farmers’ initiative, he directed them to promptly identify suitable state land to facilitate implementation.

The commissioner further instructed the Health Department to upgrade facilities in public hospitals, ensure quality healthcare services, and strictly monitor staff attendance.

Taking notice of sewerage issues in the basement of the old building at Benazir Bhutto Hospital, he ordered immediate repairs to prevent structural damage and safeguard patient care.

Khattak emphasised the need for stronger inter-departmental coordination, improved field monitoring and prompt redressal of public complaints. He warned that negligence in implementing government policies would not be tolerated and directed officials to improve performance.

All departments were asked to adopt a coordinated strategy to achieve targets and present progress reports at the next meeting.

The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner (Coordination) Zenia Humayun, Additional Commissioner (Revenue), the Chief Officer MCR, Chief Executive Officer RWMC, Director Health and other departmental heads. Deputy commissioners of Jhelum, Murree, Attock and Chakwal also participated.
