Commissioner orders restoring caved-in sewer line

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar, after taking immediate notice of media reports on Sunday, ordered urgent repair of a settled sewerage line on the road from Millat Chowk to Jamia Chishtia Chowk and directed WASA authorities to restore the affected infrastructure within a strict timeline to ensure public relief.

Acting on his instructions, Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza reached the site along with heavy machinery and launched repair operations without delay.

The divisional commissioner said that the rectification work on the damaged sewerage line would be completed by Monday evening.

Immediate steps were being taken to minimize inconvenience to citizens, he added.

He said that as soon as the sewerage system is restored, the Municipal Corporation Faisalabad would undertake road repair, rehabilitation and carpeting work to fully restore the affected stretch for smooth traffic flow.

Officers of WASA and the Municipal Corporation were present at the site to supervise the entire process, ensuring timely completion and quality of work, he added.

He reiterated that resolving public issues and providing relief to citizens is top priority of the district administration and no delay would be tolerated in addressing civic problems.
