MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2026) Commissioner Multan Aamir Karim Khan on Monday conducted a detailed visit to the Multan-Vehari dual carriageway project and inspected various sections to review the pace, quality and overall progress of construction work.
During the visit, he directed the officers concerned and contractors to ensure that no compromise was made on the quality of the project and that all remaining work was completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said the Multan-Vehari Road was an important communication project for South Punjab that would provide the public with improved, safer and faster travel facilities, besides playing a key role in promoting trade and economic activities in the region.
He also directed the authorities concerned to pay special attention to the quality of tough tiles along the roadside, drainage system, lane marking, street furniture and other allied facilities.
A briefing informed the commissioner that 61 per cent carpeting work on the 93-kilometre-long project had been completed, while the remaining 39 per cent would be finished by July 30.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The final carpet layer on 27 kilometres would be completed by July 15, while work on the last nine kilometres would be completed by July 30.
It was further informed that 62 per cent work on the 26-kilometre drainage network had been completed, while the remaining 38 per cent, along with installation of tough pavers, would be completed by July 30. Work on the central median divider had reached 65 per cent completion and the remaining portion would be completed by July 15.
According to the briefing, 48 per cent work on treated shoulders had been completed and the remaining 52 per cent would be finished by July 20. In built-up areas, 31 per cent installation of tough pavers had been completed and the rest would be completed by July 30.
The briefing added that the initial phase of lane marking had been completed, while the major portion of the remaining work would be completed by July 15 and the rest by July 30.
It was also informed that installation of signboards, streetlights, plantation in the central median, modern bus waiting sheds and commemorative monuments would be completed by the end of July in line with the project schedule.
