BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia visited the Darul Atfaal (Children Home) for girls near library Chowk to review the ongoing revamping project.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza and other relevant officials accompanied him during the visit.
During the briefing, officials informed that the development scheme is estimated to cost around Rs 10 million. The project includes the reconstruction of the outer boundary wall and the revamping of residential rooms to provide a safer, more secure, and improved living environment for the resident girls.
The Commissioner reviewed the pace and quality of construction work and directed that all activities be completed within the stipulated timeframe without compromising standards. He emphasized that the improvement of government welfare institutions remains a priority, adding that it is the state’s responsibility to ensure a clean, safe, and dignified environment for children.
Later, the Commissioner also visited classrooms of the Pak Maktab school established within the facility. He interacted with the students, showed interest in their academic activities, and encouraged them to continue their education with dedication. He also instructed teachers to pay special attention to the education and character-building of the children.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza stated that the district administration is actively working to improve welfare institutions and that the upgradation of the Children Home Female will significantly enhance both residential and educational facilities.
Director Social Welfare Ishtiaq Ahmed and other officials of the Social Welfare Department were also present during the visit.
