LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Commissioner Marryam Khan on Monday visited rural and urban areas of Sangla Hill, Nankana Sahib, as part of ongoing inspections under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab, reviewing municipal services, health facilities, educational institutions and development projects.
During the visit, the Commissioner inspected village 118 Chak, Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, examination centers, schools, and storm water drainage projects. She also reviewed desilting and refilling operations of open ponds and stressed the need for regular cleaning of sewerage drains in rural areas to maintain sanitation standards.
The Commissioner emphasized that, in line with the Chief Minister’s vision, municipal and cleanliness standards must be uniform in both urban and rural areas. She directed that daily desilting and cleaning of drainage channels be ensured in rural regions, and instructed authorities to complete monsoon preparedness and storm water drainage projects within stipulated timelines.
She also directed the preparation of an initial plan for the development of Pakistan’s tallest waterfall at Hill Park Sangla Hill, stating that the existing lake water could be reutilized to enhance the scenic beauty through a waterfall feature.
Later, the Commissioner visited THQ Hospital Sangla Hill in Nankana Sahib, where she inspected the emergency, male and female wards. She reviewed the availability of free medicines, patient care arrangements, and cleanliness standards in the hospital.
She also visited Government Girls High school Sangla Hill and held an interactive session with students, encouraging educational engagement and institutional improvement.
