Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad inaugurates tree plantation campaign

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division, Shahmeer Khan Bhutto, along with Vice Chancellor Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology, Professor Dr. Saleem Raza Samo, formally inaugurated tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling under the initiative titled “Plantation Drive – Making Campus Green.”

On this occasion, Commissioner visited various parts of the university campus and reviewed the ongoing plantation activities.

Speaking at the event, Commissioner Shahmeer Khan Bhutto and Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Saleem Raza Samo said that trees are a precious gift of nature and essential for human life.

They emphasized that rising environmental pollution, increasing temperatures, and climate change demand collective efforts to plant more trees.

They urged every individual to plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its care to ensure a clean, green, and healthy environment for future generations.

They added that tree plantation not only improves the environment but also enhances beauty of the land.

Commissioner and Vice Chancellor highlighted that educational institutions can play a vital role in promoting plantation activities and fostering awareness among students, which is the need of hour.

The event was also attended by Regional Director of Mohtasib-e-Aala Shaheed Benazirabad, Khan Muhammad Zardari, university professors, district officers, and large number of students. Participants also planted saplings and reaffirmed their commitment to making the environment greener.
