Commissioner visits Model Agriculture Mall and Farmers Facilitation Center

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia visited the Model Agriculture Mall and Farmers Facilitation Center along with Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza to review agricultural services and facilities being provided to farmers.

During the visit, various aspects including the availability of agricultural inputs, effective use of modern technology, and promotion of research-based farming practices were reviewed.

The Commissioner directed that farmers must be provided with high-quality services to strengthen the agricultural sector on sustainable lines. He stated that farmers’ prosperity would not only enhance provincial agricultural output but also contribute significantly to the national economy.

Director Agriculture Jameel Ahmed Ghouri briefed the Commissioner on the Punjab government’s agricultural initiatives and ongoing programs.

He informed that the Model Agriculture Mall is offering both basic and advanced facilities under one roof, while farmers are also being trained in modern techniques and climate-resilient farming practices.

The Commissioner appreciated the availability of high-tech agricultural machinery, noting that it would help increase per-acre yield significantly. He also directed authorities to ensure the provision of quality pesticides at subsidized rates, maintain transparent data systems, and implement effective monitoring mechanisms.

Additionally, it was highlighted that the Punjab government is providing advisory services by agricultural experts to protect cotton crops from harmful pests, enabling farmers to receive timely guidance and support.
