Commissioner visits Press Club Sargodha

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) Commissione Hafiz Shaukat Ali has said that good governance is not possible without the cooperation

of the media.

The role of the media is very important in providing government facilities to people and raising awareness.

He was speaking as a special guest at the Sargodha Press Club on Saturday.

Press Club President Abdul Hanan Chaudhry welcomed him along with other office bearers

and presented a bouquet.

The commissioner, while congratulating the newly elected office bearers, said that concrete and practical steps

are being taken for development of the division. He said that the Mian Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Institute is being equipped with state-of-the-art facilities where there will be a capacity of 100 beds for heart patients and now the patients will not have to go to Lahore, Rawalpindi or Faisalabad.

He further said that PC-1 has been prepared for the establishment of the Trauma Center. The Commissioner said that changes are being made in the laws of the Revenue Department, especially a plan is being prepared for the early decisions of land distribution and other cases, which will provide relief to the public and reduce legal complications.

Along with this, work is also underway on the Green Certificate and Plus project.

The commissioner said that a plan to build sports grounds on government lands in rural areas is underway to attract youth towards positive activities. He said that special attention is being paid to the restoration of parks, installation of street lights, elimination of encroachments and improvement of road infrastructure for the beautification of cities. WASA's major water supply project is under completion and is being monitored, while NESPAK has been entrusted with the responsibility of quality assurance.

The commissioner said that beautification projects, upgradation of markets, repair of flyovers, patchwork and installation of street lights are underway in Sargodha city. Construction of a bypass at Sial Mor to solve the traffic problem, while work is also underway on the improvement of Khushab Road and Silanwali Road. He added that provision of basic facilities in villages is being ensured under the "Ideal Village" project.
