Commissioner vows to ensure foolproof security measures on Ashura

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the divisional administration is working to make administrative and security measures foolproof during the Ashura of Muharram-ul-Haram.

In this regard, a meeting was held under the chair of Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen here on Tuesday. RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhera, Deputy Commissioner Cap (Retd) Nadeem Nasir and other officers were present in the meeting while Deputy Commissioners and DPOs of Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot participated through video link.

The Commissioner reviewed administrative and security issues of processions and majalis in all four districts of the division and directed the officers concerned to monitor the Muharram arrangements vigilantly.

She directed the officers to ensure their presence in the field as there should be no leniency anywhere. He advised them to keep security measures vigilant and said that arrangements on the routes of Muharram processions should be foolproof. She stressed the need to maintain close contact with the members of the district peace committees.
