Commissioner vows to improve supply of petrol for facilitating people in Quetta

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzeb Khan Kakar on Wednesday chaired a meeting to improve the supply of oil petrol at petrol pumps in the city with the aim to provide facilities to people.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Quetta Mehrullah Badini, Assistant Commissioner City Quetta Amir Hamza, and representatives of oil marketing companies, OGRA and dealers association.

During the meeting, a detailed review of the demand and supply of petrol in the city was taken.

Representatives of oil companies briefed the Commissioner Quetta Division about the current situation and supply chain and informed that about 315,000 liters of petrol are on the way for supply, after which the current situation is expected to improve significantly.

In the meeting, the Commissioner Quetta Division directed that all registered petrol pump owners should immediately send their demands to the concerned oil companies.

He clarified that action would be taken against the dealers who would not submit their demands as per the prescribed procedure. He said that after the dealers send the demand, the responsibility for its timely fulfillment would fall on the oil companies.

It was also decided in the meeting that in view of the current situation, petrol will not be sold in cans and bottles at petrol pumps so that fair distribution of fuel can be ensured.

In this regard, the public was also appealed to cooperate with petrol pump owners and avoid unnecessary hoarding.

In order to maintain law and order in the city, the meeting also directed the concerned police officials to increase patrols so that discipline could be maintained at petrol pumps and the citizens would not face any kind of problem.

Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Quetta Division Shahzeb Khan Kakar said that the district administration and relevant agencies are utilizing all available resources to normalize petrol supply in the city.

He said that all registered petrol pump owners have been directed to submit their demand immediately while oil companies have been directed to keep the supply chain active.

He urged to citizens to exercise patience and not listen to any rumors, as the supply of petrol would soon return to normal and the situation is being constantly monitored.
