Community tree plantation campaign continues in Ghotki, Sukkur

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) The SRSO Community Tree Plantation Campaign Spring 2026 is continuing in Ghotki and Sukkur districts on Friday to promote a green Sindh, clean environment and household food security.

Tree plantation and distribution were carried out in various villages by the Social Mobilisation teams along with women leaders of community institutions.

Fruit plants were distributed among Low-Cost Housing (LCH) beneficiaries and Village Organisation (VO) members under the People’s Poverty Reduction Programme, funded by the Sindh government.

Community members, particularly women, actively participated by planting trees within their households.

Awareness cum training sessions with community members and beneficiaries are part of the campaign, highlighting the importance and proper care of trees for a clean environment, oxygen supply and improved food security.

Village organizations reaffirmed their commitment to continue and expand plantation activities in their villages and surrounding areas.
