Comprehensive security plan issued for Ramazan, over 1,600 security personnel deployed at 610 mosques

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Sahibzada Bilal Umar issued a comprehensive security plan for the holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak and placed security arrangements across the city on high alert in addition to directing strict monitoring of all sensitive locations to ensure peaceful observance of the month.

He said that more than 1,600 police personnel would perform security duties at 610 mosques across Faisalabad particularly at Sehri, Iftar and Taraweeh timings.

He directed security officers to maintain sharp vigilance to avert any untoward incident and ensure a secure environment for the worshippers.

He said that the police would also deploy security personnel at three Ramazan Bazaars established by the government to facilitate citizens during the holy month. Adequate security arrangements have been made to manage crowds and prevent any disruption at these marketplaces, he added.

He said that the elite force teams, dolphin force and motorcycle squads would conduct regular patrolling in accordance with their respective operational plans.

Important locations have been divided into sectors where police mobiles would continuously patrol to maintain law and order, he added.

He said that to effectively cover crowded places, additional pickets and patrolling points have been established at strategic locations across the city.

He said that all major sites are being monitored through CCTV cameras to enhance surveillance and ensure rapid response in case of any emergency.

He directed all divisional SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to keep security personnel deployed on duty fully alert and conduct periodic checks to ensure effective implementation of the security plan.

He emphasized strict vigilance against miscreants and instructed police officers to keep a close watch on the elements attempting to disturb peace.

He further ordered for immediate legal action against the individuals involved in publishing or distributing objectionable and sectarian hate material during the holy month.

Negligence or laxity in security duties would not be tolerated under any circumstances, he added.
