Consumer protection drive continues in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The Consumer Protection Department conducted raids against various business outlets at Jail Chowk and Kutchehry Chowk in Gujrat.

According to official sources, during the inspections, legal action was taken against several shopkeepers and factory owners for not displaying price lists, failing to issue receipts, and selling expired items.

Assistant Director Consumer Protection Department Chaudhry Muhammad Farooq said that no leniency would be shown to those violating the consumer rights.

He stated that the Punjab government is introducing a “Consumer App” through which citizens will be able to lodge complaints from home and receive prompt relief.
