Cop martyred in Buner terrorist attack

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) A police official was martyred in a terrorist attack in Totali Khadokhel area of Buner district on Sunday, local police informed.

Preliminary police reports said the cop identified as Miskeen Zada was inside a shop when an alleged militant entered and opened indiscriminate fire, killing him at the scene. The assailant fled immediately after the attack.

Police said the suspect had reportedly been present near the local police station for several days and that counterterrorism police had conducted raids to apprehend him, but he managed to evade arrest.

Following the incident, police and law-enforcement agencies cordoned off the area, collected evidence and launched a search operation to arrest the attacker.

Police said the case is being investigated from multiple angles and pledged to bring the responsible to justice.
