Cotton crop management reviewed to boost yield

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) A meeting of the Cotton Crop Management Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa to review measures for increasing cotton production in the district.

According to a district administration spokesperson, the meeting discussed in detail the targets for cotton cultivation, strategies to enhance per-acre yield and issues being faced by farmers.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Awais Irshad Bhatti, Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Tahir Bhatti and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) and Deputy Director Development Anam Hafeez, along with other relevant officers.

During the briefing, Deputy Director Agriculture (Extension) Tahir Bhatti informed participants that efforts were underway to ensure availability of quality seed, timely supply of fertilizers and effective pest control. He added that farmers were being guided on modern agricultural practices to improve productivity.

Deputy Commissioner Usman Tahir Jappa directed the concerned departments to ensure timely provision of certified seeds and fertilizers, and to keep field teams of the agriculture department fully active.
