Couple found killed in Ali Pur, case registered

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) A couple who had married against their families wishes was allegedly found murdered in Alipur tehsil of district Muzaffargarh, police said on Thursday.

The bodies were recovered from a field in Basti Desi, Mouza Ghari, within the jurisdiction of Seetpur police station.

Police said that Lal Hussain had married a woman of his choice about a year ago despite opposition from her family. The couple was found dead with multiple wounds caused by some sharp-edged weapons, suggesting they had been brutally murdered before their bodies were dumped in the field by unidentified accused.

Upon receiving information, police reached the scene, shifted the bodies to a hospital for medico-legal procedure, and collected evidence from the area.

Seetpur Police have registered a case and launched investigations to trace and arrest those responsible for the double murder.

Police officials said that the motive behind the killings and the identities of the perpetrators would be determined after a thorough investigation.
