ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) The District and Sessions Court on Monday adjourned the proceedings of Sana Yousaf murder case after the
accused could not be presented and statements from witnesses could not be recorded.
The court fixed April 28 as the next date for hearing.
The case was heard by the Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.
Due to specific reasons, the main accused, Umar Hayat, was not brought to court. An attempt to record
his statement through a video link from Adiala Jail also failed.
During the hearing, complainant’s counsel Sardar Qadeer appeared before the court along with three witnesses.
However, their statements could not be recorded in the absence of the accused.
The proceedings also revealed that the defence counsel for the accused had submitted a power of attorney
that was not verified by jail authorities or the court. The judge directed the defence lawyer to submit a new
verified document.
After noting these issues, the court adjourned the hearing until April 28.
