Court extends physical remand of accused in 20 kg gold fraud case

A local court at Model Town Kutchery on Monday extended the physical remand of an accused involved in 20 kg gold fraud case

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) A local court at Model Town Kutchery on Monday extended the physical remand of an accused involved in 20 kg gold fraud case.

Earlier, the police produced the accused, Wasim Akhtar, before the court upon completion of his initial physical remand.

The police informed the court that approximately two kilograms of gold and Rs30 million in cash had so far been recovered from the accused.

The investigation team maintained that further physical remand was required to recover the remaining gold and complete the probe.

Accepting the request, the court granted a two-day extension in the physical remand.

Advocate Faisal Bajwa appeared on behalf of the complainant, while the duty judicial magistrate heard the police request.

Ichhra police has registered multiple cases against the accused on complaints filed by different applicants.
