LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) A judicial magistrate on Wednesday extended physical remand for another six-day of a man and his second wife accused of murdering his four-and-a-half-year-old daughter in the Green Town area.

The accused, Ashfaq Ahmed and his wife Nazia Bibi, were produced before Judicial Magistrate Zeb Shahzad Cheema at Model Town Courts. During the hearing, the investigation officer sought additional custody of the suspects for further interrogation, which the court approved.

According to police, the suspects are accused of fatally beating the minor girl, Fatima, with sticks.

The case was registered at Green Town Police Station on the complaint of the child’s biological mother, Shafaq, who is separated from the accused father.

Police told the court that the deceased child and her elder sister had been living with their father and stepmother following the separation. The elder sibling, Kashaf, was also allegedly subjected to severe torture and sustained injuries.

Counsel for the complainant, Mian Muzammil Sharif Advocate, appeared before the court and supported the request for further remand. The court directed police to continue the investigation and present progress at the next hearing.
