ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th May, 2026) The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Friday handed over four suspects, including three foreign nationals and one woman, to the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) for three days in a major online investment fraud case linked to the “Gold Box” and “GLBX” mobile applications.
The suspects were presented before Duty Judge Naeema Iftikhar.
According to the investigation officer, the accused are involved in a large-scale online scam in which hundreds of citizens were allegedly deceived and millions of rupees were collected through fake investment schemes.
The investigation officer informed the court that the case involved fraud worth billions of rupees. He said the agency needed physical remand to recover money, digital devices and other evidence connected to the alleged fraud network.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The NCCIA had requested a 30-day physical remand of the accused. However, the court approved a three-day remand and directed investigators to produce the suspects again after the completion of the remand period.
According to the case details, more than Rs134 million was allegedly collected from 270 victims through the online applications. One of the complainants, Muhammad Ayaz Khan, told investigators that he alone lost over Rs 54.1 million in the scheme.
Investigators said the alleged fraud network was being operated from Islamabad’s Blue Area. A case has been registered under provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and other sections related to fraud and cheating.
