Court orders daily hearings in 22-year-old student Iman Afroz murder case

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Wednesday decided to conduct daily hearings after Eid in the murder case of 22-year-old Islamic University student Iman Afroz, who was found dead in a hostel.

The court also summoned prosecution witnesses for the next hearing as the trial moves forward.

The case was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka. Prosecutor Naveed Hussain Kyani Advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the state.

During the hearing, the court decided that the case would be heard on a day-to-day basis after Eid to speed up the trial proceedings.

Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka said the court would continue regular hearings after Eid holidays.

The court also directed prosecution witnesses to appear at the next hearing to record their statements and assist in the investigation process.

After preliminary proceedings, the hearing was adjourned until June 3.

The murder case of Iman Afroz has been registered at Ramna Police Station in Islamabad. According to the case record, the 22-year-old student of the International Islamic University was allegedly killed inside the hostel premises, leading to an investigation by local police.
