RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) The Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi Bench on Thursday issued notices to the respondents and sought replies in a constitutional petition filed against the killing of a nine-year-old girl, Hania Ahmed, in Chakwal.

Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan admitted the petition for hearing and directed the relevant authorities to submit their responses by Friday.

The petition, filed by Muhammad Nadeem through counsel including Mian Asif Mahmood Advocate and others, named the Federation of Pakistan, Director General FIA, Chief Secretary Punjab, Inspector General Punjab, RPO Rawalpindi, DPO Chakwal and head of CCD as respondents.

The petitioner contended that CCD officials opened indiscriminate fire on a vehicle during an alleged police encounter on the night between June 10 and 11, resulting in the death of the minor girl on the spot, while her father, Adil and brother sustained injuries.

The petition requested the court to order an inquiry into the incident by the DG FIA and to direct the Federal government to constitute a judicial commission. The court, after the initial hearing, issued notices and sought replies from the concerned authorities.
