Court sentences four in Rawalpindi kidnapping for ransom case

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) A court has awarded sentences to four convicts in a high-profile kidnapping for ransom case involving a property consultant here on Thursday.

According to a police spokesman, the court sentenced the four accused; Mubeen Yousaf, Manzoor Hussain, Irfan Hussain and Ali Badshah to two years imprisonment each along with a fine of Rs.500,000.0 under sections 365/109 of the PPC.

Police said the victim had been abducted in 2023 for millions of rupees in ransom but was later recovered safely due to effective strategy and investigation by Rawalpindi Police.

During the operation to arrest the suspects, five highly dangerous inter-provincial criminals were killed in an exchange of fire with police, including notorious suspects Payyo Din and Suleman.

Additional punishment of two years imprisonment and Rs.100,000.0 fine was also awarded to Ali Badshah for illegal weapon possession.
