CPO directs to enforce foolproof security plan during Muharram

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain on Sunday directed all police formations

to remain on high alert and ensure an uncompromising security shield around Muharram

congregations and processions.

Chairing a high-level meeting on Muharram security arrangements at the Community

Engagement Center, he said that every available resource would be utilized to maintain

peace, religious harmony and safety of citizens throughout the holy month.

He reviewed the overall law & order situation and issued comprehensive instructions

to strengthen security measures across the district.

He instructed the police officers to ensure foolproof security for all majalis, processions,

mosques and imambargahs and directed them to remain fully vigilant in view of the sensitive

security environment during Muharram.

He ordered enhanced surveillance of sensitive locations and immediate implementation

of a special checking plan to prevent any untoward incident.

He also emphasized the effective use of modern technology, including CCTV cameras,

digital applications and social media monitoring systems to identify and counter suspicious

activities, hate material and disruptive elements.

He directed the field officers to maintain close coordination with procession organizers,

continuously monitor procession routes and ensure strict implementation of all security

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) through collaboration with relevant departments

and stakeholders.

He stressed that maintaining law & order, promoting sectarian harmony and safeguarding

the lives and property of citizens were top priorities of Faisalabad police during Muharram.

He said the security of mourners must be ensured at all costs and instructed police officers

to leave no room for negligence.

He further directed supervisory officers to regularly brief personnel about the sensitivity

of Muharram duties and ensure maximum preparedness at all deployment points.

He warned that departmental action would be taken against officials found displaying

irresponsibility or negligence in the discharge of their duties.

SSP Operations Imran Ahmed Malik, SSP Investigation Ahmed Nawaz Shah, Town SPs,

SDPOs and other senior police officers were also present in the meeting.
