City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain inspected the route of the central mourning procession and directed police officers to maintain uncompromising security, route clearance, traffic management and emergency response arrangements for its peaceful conduct

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain inspected the route of the central mourning procession and directed police officers to maintain uncompromising security, route clearance, traffic management and emergency response arrangements for its peaceful conduct.

The CPO conducted the visit along with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retired) Nadeem Nasir, reviewing entry and exit points, walk-through gates, control rooms and deployment of security personnel along the procession route. SP Lyallpur Division, Assistant Commissioner City and other officers were also present.

Police spokesman Tariq Jutt said that the CPO also examined the modern monitoring system installed to keep close watch on suspicious activities around the procession route.

Tanveer Hussain directed officers to keep traffic management, route clearance and emergency response systems fully operational throughout the procession so that mourners and citizens did not face any difficulty.

He warned that the department would not tolerate negligence in security duties and directed officers to ensure vigilant and responsible performance at all assigned points.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Captain (retired) Nadeem Nasir said that the district administration and police were working in complete coordination to ensure foolproof security on all procession routes.

During visit, the CPO and deputy commissioner also met organizers and a delegation of traders and assured them that authorities would make comprehensive arrangements for the protection of mourners, businesses and the general public.

The police spokesman said the administration was taking every possible measure to maintain peace and protect citizens during Muharram-ul-Haram.
