RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani on Thursday ordered the issuance of charge sheets to nine investigation officers over poor performance while chairing a crime meeting at Police Lines Headquarters.
The meeting was attended by SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, divisional SPs, SP Headquarters, SDPOs of New Town and Taxila circles, SHOs, investigation officers, and other senior police officials.
During the meeting, the CPO reviewed police station and circle-wise performance and issued directives aimed at improving crime control, investigations, and law enforcement across the district.
Addressing the officers, the CPO directed police officials to further improve their performance regarding crime prevention and investigation standards.
He instructed them to focus particularly on curbing beggary during search operations, taking strict action against drug dealers, and cracking down on criminal elements.
He also directed officers to ensure registration of tenants and employees to strengthen security measures and improve monitoring mechanisms.
The CPO reiterated that protection of citizens’ lives and property and prevention of crime remain the top priorities of Rawalpindi Police and would be ensured at all costs.
On the occasion, the CPO awarded commendation letters to SSP Operations Malik Tariq Mehboob and SDPO Taxila Malik Arshad for their outstanding performance.
Sub-Inspector Jan Muhammad, an investigation officer at Wah Cantt Police Station, was declared “Officer of the Month” and awarded a commendation certificate along with a cash reward for his excellent performance.
The CPO also awarded a commendation certificate and cash prize to Sub-Inspector Mushtaq Ahmad for conducting an effective investigation in a narcotics case that resulted in the conviction of the accused.
Meanwhile, commendation certificates were also awarded to SHO Taxila Inspector Hamid Kazmi, SHO Saddar Wah Sub-Inspector Asif Iqbal, Sub-Inspector Hassan Ali, Sub-Inspector Shafiq-ul-Hassan, Sub-Inspector Umar Siddique, Sub-Inspector Zaheer, Sub-Inspector Zahid Mahmood, Sub-Inspector Nauman, Sub-Inspector Qaiser Abbas, Assistant Sub-Inspector Zafar Ali, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Waseem Khan for their commendable performance.
