CPO sets tough anti-crime targets, warns officers against negligence

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain has directed police officers across Faisalabad to intensify the crackdown on proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, drug peddlers and other anti-social elements, and said that negligence, poor performance and dereliction of duty would not be tolerated in this regard.

He issued the directives while presiding over a district-wide crime meeting held at the Police Lines Complex to review law & order, crime trends, police performance and ongoing crime-control measures.

SSP Operations Imran Ahmad Malik, SSP Investigation Ahmad Nawaz Shah, Town SPs, SDPOs, SHOs and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.

The CPO conducted a detailed review of the overall security situation, crime statistics, investigation progress and operational performance across the district.

Special attention was given to the investigation of heinous cases, arrest of wanted suspects and timely disposal of criminal cases.

CPO Tanveer Hussain issued clear targets and special instructions to police officers regarding early completion of investigations and prompt arrest of absconding and wanted criminals.

He directed all field formations to further accelerate and strengthen operations against proclaimed offenders, repeat offenders, narcotics dealers and other elements involved in criminal activities.

Addressing the participants, the CPO emphasized that safeguarding the lives and property of citizens and ensuring a peaceful environment remained foremost responsibility of the police force.

“Any lapse in fulfilling this responsibility will not be tolerated”, he said, directing police officers to make crime prevention strategies more effective through enhanced patrolling, strategic picketing, search operations and intelligence-based actions.

The CPO also instructed investigation officers to ensure that pending cases were decided strictly on merit, with transparency and within the prescribed timelines.

He stressed that efficient investigations and timely justice were essential for strengthening public confidence in the criminal justice system.

Highlighting the importance of public service, CPO Tanveer Hussain said that providing prompt, respectful and quality policing services to citizens should remain the top priority of every police officer.

He urged police officers to utilize their full professional capabilities to uphold the rule of law, ensure justice and reinforce public trust in the police department.

He warned that the officers found responsible for negligence, carelessness or unsatisfactory performance would face departmental action in accordance with the law and service rules.

Later, the CPO distributed commendation certificates among police officers who had demonstrated outstanding professional performance.

He termed high-performing officers a valuable asset to the police department and said that recognizing and encouraging their efforts was vital for strengthening the institution.

Such awards were aimed at boosting morale, promoting professionalism and motivating officers to deliver even better results in maintaining law & order and serving the public, he added.
