Crackdown against drugs,crime: accused arrested

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) Police intensified their ongoing campaign against narcotics and crime, resulting in multiple arrests

and significant recoveries of drugs, liquor and illegal weapons.

According to police sources, SHO Rangpur, along with his team, arrested an accused,

Shamoon Azam, and recovered 20 litres of liquor. A case was registered and the accused

was sent behind bars.

In a separate operation, SHO Bet Mir Hazar apprehended Muhammad Ramzan and

recovered 490 grams of hashish from his possession. A case was registered against

the accused.

Meanwhile, SHO Civil Lines Noor Khan conducted raids and arrested five accused,

including Arsalan, Kora Khan, Muhammad Nasir, Tariq Hussain and Ghulam Abbas.

The police recovered 520 grams of hashish, 60 litres of liquor and a 30-bore pistol.

Cases were registered against all accused.

In another operation, SHO City Alipur Kashif Asghar arrested three accused, including

Muhammad Shehzad, Arsalan and Hamza.

The police recovered 560 grams of hashish,

20 litres of liquor and a 30-bore pistol, registering separate cases against them.

SHO Rohilanwali Rao Shahroz also carried out multiple operations, arresting a proclaimed

offender, Ramzan, along with other suspects. Police recovered 3,000 grams of hashish,

liquor from seven accused and an illegal weapon during the crackdown.

Similarly, SHO Shah Jamal Zareef Khan arrested four accused, including Niaz ,

Niaz , Muhammad Sohail and Muhammad Shakir. The police seized 85 litres of liquor

and a 30-bore pistol with ammunition.

In another action, SHO Saddar Alipur Muzammil Hussain arrested Sajid Hussain and recovered

40 litres of liquor along with an operational distillery. In a separate raid, Muhammad Ahmed was

arrested with a 30-bore pistol and ammunition.

Police registered separate cases under relevant laws, including the Control of Narcotic

Substances Act and Arms Ordinance, and shifted all accused to lock-ups for further investigation.
