Crackdown continues against overpricing, substandard food

LOWER DIR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) The authorities here on Tuesday intensified their campaign against profiteering and the sale of substandard food items, the officials official sources said.

On the directives of Deputy Commissioner , Muhammad Arif Khan, inspection teams from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority were conducting visits to restaurants and collecting samples in various areas of Timergara and Balambat tehsils.

The food safety teams, working in coordination with the district administration and under the instructions of Director General Food Authority Kashif Iqbal Jilani, inspected a range of food businesses across the district.

During the operation, the officials reviewed compliance with food safety regulations at fast food outlets, grocery stores, bakeries and restaurants, aiming to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.
