Crackdown launched against LPG cylinders in passenger vehicles in DIKhan

Dera Ismail Khan, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Authorities in Dera Ismail Khan have launched a strict crackdown against the use of LPG cylinders in passenger vehicles, terming the practice hazardous to public safety.

According to Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Dera, Shaukat Iqbal, passenger vehicles fitted with LPG cylinders will no longer be allowed to operate under any circumstances.

He said that enforcement teams have intensified operations on a daily basis to curb the illegal use of LPG cylinders, alongside ongoing action against overcharging of fares.

He warned that strict action would be taken against violators, including impounding of vehicles, sealing of transport stands, and imposition of fines on those responsible.

The RTA secretary also urged the general public to avoid traveling in vehicles using LPG cylinders, emphasizing that such measures are essential to ensure the safety of passengers and prevent potential accidents.
