Crackdown launched against underage riders and traffic violators in Abbottabad

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2026) A citywide crackdown has been launched against underage motorcyclists, helmetless riders and motorcycles without or with non-standard number plates.

According to traffic police officials, checkpoints have been established at multiple locations under the supervision of circle DSPs to ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws. During the ongoing operations, authorities are checking motorcyclists for helmet use, verifying the age of riders, and inspecting vehicles for proper number plates.

Violators are being issued fines, while further legal action is also being taken where necessary. The campaign aims to improve road safety and ensure compliance with traffic regulations.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Traffic Ishtiaq Khan stated that the Primary objective of the crackdown is to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. He urged parents to refrain from allowing underage children to ride motorcycles and emphasized the importance of wearing helmets to prevent serious injuries in case of accidents.
