CTD officer, two militants injured in Hassan Khel operation

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) A Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officer was injured during a joint search operation conducted by the CTD and police on the outskirts of Peshawar, police confirmed on Tuesday.

The operation was launched in Hassan Khel Jangar Killi area after intelligence reports about the presence of militants was received.

During the operation, an exchange of fire took place between the militants and law enforcement personnel.

As a result, two militants were injured, along with one CTD officer. The injured were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment. However, police didn't confirm if the militants were taken into custody or not.

Police said a search and clearance operation is still ongoing in the area to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure the safety of residents.
