CTD, police kill six militants in joint operation

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) Six militants were killed during a joint search and strike operation carried out by the Counter Terrorism Department Pakistan and district police in the limits of Lachi Police Station here.

According to District Police Officer Shehbaz Elahi, the operation was launched after security agencies received intelligence reports about the presence of militants in different areas of Lachi who were allegedly planning a major terrorist activity.

Acting on the information, heavy contingents of the CTD and district police initiated a joint search operation in the area.

During the operation, the suspected militants opened fire upon seeing the security personnel, prompting retaliatory fire from the police and CTD officials. As a result of the exchange of fire, six militants were killed on the spot.

Police also recovered arms and ammunition from the possession of the militants.

Security forces cordoned off the area and started search operation to ensure the complete clearance of the locality.
