LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A traffic awareness campaign was held at Faisal Chowk on Wednesday, led by the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) along with traffic volunteers and the Traffic education Unit.
During the campaign, the CTO, accompanied by officials and volunteers, sensitized citizens about the importance of adhering to traffic rules and regulations.
Addressing the media, the CTO said the objective of the campaign was not merely to issue challans but to educate citizens about traffic laws and promote safer road behavior.
He directed traffic wardens to issue warnings to women and elderly citizens for minor violations, while ensuring strict action against serious traffic offences.
The CTO emphasized that lane line violations lead to traffic disruptions and accidents, instructing authorities to take firm action against such practices.
He further noted that “Rehbar Squads” are actively working in the field to raise public awareness about traffic rules.
Highlighting environmental concerns, he said the traffic police are making all-out efforts to control smog through effective enforcement measures.
The CTO assured that all available resources are being utilized on roads to ensure public safety and provide secure travel facilities to citizens.
He also announced that sand- and soil-laden trolleys without tarpaulin would not be allowed to enter the city during night hours, while vehicles lacking fitness certificates would also face entry restrictions.
Later, the CTO Lahore, along with traffic volunteers and the Education Unit, distributed awareness pamphlets among citizens.
